Player Information
*Name/Alias: Jabbers
*Your Journal: N/A
*Age: 18
*Contact Information: plumbob6 on Skype
*Characters already in the game: N/A

Character Information
*Character Name: Sentinel Prime
*Character Canon: Transformers Animated
*Age: Young Cybertronian, so probably several hundred thousand years
*Race: Cybertronian
*Timeline/Pull Point: Just after the Five Servos of Doom

*History: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Sentinel_Prime_(Animated)

*Personality:

Several thousand years ago, Sentinel was a somewhat pleasant - if not impulsive, smug and slightly reckless - bot to be around. He was part of a trio of close friends consisting of Elita-One and Optimus at the Autobot academy and had a promising future in the Elite Guard.

That was until he went to Archa Seven.

A messy encounter with the native organic spider-like creatures of the planet culminated in Elita-One supposedly dying, something Sentinel blamed Optimus for, for ‘leaving her behind‘, despite Sentinel having insisted on going on the dangerous mission. The two’s friendship became extremely strained after that and they went their separate ways after Optimus took the blame for the event and dropped out of the academy. The effect it had on Sentinel was profound, as presumably this was the disaster that truly drove him to dive into his work and climb the Elite Guard ladder and become emotionally distant from most other ‘bots.

Presently, Sentinel is incredibly arrogant, egotistical, abrasive, and has a generally challenging personality. He is part of Ultra Magnus’ inner circle and is keen to both not let that fact go forgotten and to pull rank fairly often, perhaps hinting at insecurity. He managed to live up to his expectations in the academy despite the incident with Optimus, and although it may not seem like it, is actually genuinely good at his job. Unfortunately, being around after the War means that he has very little combat and field experience and may not perform well under pressure.

He rigidly follows rules ‘by the book‘, although as per his aforementioned lack of field experience, he finds it hard to adapt to changes quickly. Sentinel also undoubtedly has what he perceives to be Cybertron’s best interests at spark, but… What he thinks is best for the Autobots may differ from reality and the truth.

Archa Seven also left Sentinel with an incredibly strong hatred of anything and everything organic, meaning that if he comes into contact with anything non-robotic he will immediately try to disinfect himself to avoid becoming ‘contaminated’.

*Powers/Abilities: Carries an energy lance and Skyboom shield, the latter of which being nigh impenetrable but has been shown to wane under continued stress. Can also transform into a Snow Plough – assuming it’s his Earth form due to the pull point – as well as being a two story tall robot.

*Inventory: One can of disinfectant. Worryingly low on contents.

*Starting Polarity: I assume Megatronus, but of course any changes are up to the mods.

If AU, how does your character differ from canon?: (Non AU apps may ignore this question. CRAUs and OAUs should get in to specifics here regarding what changes there are from their character's original canon. We'll need at least a paragraph explaining details.)

Writing Samples

*First Person Sample:

[The video buzzes to life, the face of a large blue bot with a sizable chin coming into view. An angry, blue bot.]

Okay, so this stopped being funny about twenty nanoseconds after I woke up. Jetfire? Jetstorm? What the frag have you done this time?

Seriously? Nothing? Or are you giving me the silent treatment for no reason again? Ugh, at least this isn’t another bucket of paint over a door…

[His antennae flick slightly, making a small beeping sound. A subconscious show of uneasiness regarding the absolute radio silence.]

Look, I… whatever far flung reaches of space I’ve managed to find myself in, it’s protocol in a situation like this to have the [ahem] victim find and establish communications with any nearby Autobots to try and asses their situation and return to safety.

Assuming this new signal I’ve picked up isn’t a Decepticon trap [another flick, this time registering fear, aware of how vulnerable he is making himself] and I’m not about to be attacked, it would be great if anyone nearby could come and help.

Oh, and one more thing? This is Sentinel Prime of the Elite Guard, so don’t try anything stupid.

[The last statement punctuated by jabbing his finger at the camera, he shuts off the video, content with his introduction, and starts walking away from where he’d woken up after being thrown through the Lambda; neurotically scanning for life forms every few minutes.]

*Third Person Sample:

“Hey, SP, we’re due for another update,” Jazz’s voice chirped through the comm link, “Any’ Con activity we missed?”

Sentinel leaned back, releasing a short and violent burst of air from his vents. “No, Jazz, you may be shocked to hear that absolutely frag all has registered since you last called in, what? Ten kliks ago?” He grinned smugly. “Incredible. Looks like there’s no ‘Cons on this stupid planet after all.”

There was a pause on the other end and Sentinel could almost hear Jazz frowning. “You know, there are multiple ways they could hide their signals from us, seeing as our entry was, you know, less than inconspicuous. Besides, you still think Optimus and his team are lying?”

The ninja bot’s question was met with an obnoxious snort of laughter from the other end of the comm, “They’re maintenance bots, Jazz, who cares what they think? Just… finish up that sweep and get back so we can disinfect you and get the Pit off this disgusting planet.”

Before he could get a predictably indignant reply, Sentinel cut the link off and kicked his feet up on the console in front of him, a position most uncouth for an Elite Guard officer; he didn’t care as Ultra Magnus was locked away in his room conferring with the council over the supposed recovery of the AllSpark.

He considered either going for a drive or giving Optimus a brief call to laugh about how he was wrong regarding the lack of Decepticon activity. Ultimately, he decided against both as part of him realised if Jazz were to call in with any problems – be it some activity of any kind or organic contamination – he didn’t want to be caught away his station. Especially not after last time, as Magnus had not been amused when he’d tried to say he’d dropped his datapad. In a corridor two flights of stairs above where he was supposed to be seated. That and the city was incredibly dull and filled with organics in cars who somehow managed to be constantly stuck in jams.

Finally, Sentinel dismissed the notion of calling his former friend on the basis that it was fairly early in the planet’s solar cycle, and from what he remembered at the academy, Optimus had a very strong aversion to being brought out of recharge earlier than necessary. As much as he enjoyed arguing with him, being deafened by the maintenance ‘bot telling him to frag off wasn’t something he considered worth his time. Especially considering yelling back would only alert Ultra Magnus that he wasn’t doing his job.

Silently admitting defeat, he flicked the connection to Jazz back to active, somewhat relieved to see he wasn’t frantically calling for backup. He scowled slightly before asking, “Any activity?”

Final Notes: Hey, so I’m just being neurotic – but I was wondering if he’s even allowed to bring in his lance? I mean, from what I understand from the series, the shield is built in, but the lance and can of disinfectant I am less confidant about. Thanks!
